到葡萄牙旅遊必搭的里斯本國家歷史古蹟「榮耀升降梯」（Gloria Funicular），於當地時間3日傍晚發生重大事故，一輛纜車在轉彎處脫軌翻覆，消防人員透露，是因「鋼纜脫落」造成事故。目前已知15人死亡、23人受傷，其中來自德國的一家三口，爸爸當場死亡，媽媽重傷救治中，3歲的孩子則是輕傷被救了出來。

據葡萄牙媒體《observador》報導，警方指出，一個德國家庭當時就在事故纜車中，父親當場身亡，母親重傷送院救治中，目前在加護病房，3歲的孩子則是受了輕傷，被警方救出後，由相關單位協助照護。另外，該輛纜車的守車員（guarda-freio）安德烈·馬克斯（André Marques）也被證實死亡。

至於事故原因，雖然目前尚未有官方說法，不過有消防人員告知《observador》，是因升降機結構上的一條鋼纜脫落，導致纜車失去控制，撞向建築物的牆壁。目前已無受困人員，罹難者及傷者的國籍、身分尚待確認，詳細事發原因也仍待調查，當局宣布週四為全國哀悼日。
我國交通部觀光署指出，目前未接獲旅行社通報有旅遊團體受影響，經洽註葡萄牙台北經濟文化中心，亦未接獲旅行團受影響相關訊息，將持續關注並適時做出回應。
