綜合《The Daily Star》等報導，美國佛州奧蘭多（Orlando, Florida）當地時間6日下午4時左右，位於虎溪（Tiger Creek）連接基西米湖（Lake Kissimmee）的水域，有一對夫妻在划獨木舟，突然遭一隻鱷魚掀翻落水。
兩人落水後，鱷魚開始攻擊61歲的妻子辛西婭（Cynthia Diekema），她的丈夫試圖救他，但辛西婭被鱷魚拖入水中，丈夫逃脫後立刻報警，但當警方成功找到女子時卻已喪命。
因佛州鱷魚造成嚴重傷害的情況很少見，當局獲報立刻展開調查，派遣鱷魚獵人前往事發地點尋找「凶手」，截至目前已找到2隻約3.3公尺長（11英尺）的鱷魚，與涉案鱷魚的描述相符，但更多的相關細節尚未公布。
