奈及利亞相關當局透過聲明表示，國內中部高原州（Plateau）一條公路發生多台車輛相撞事故，導致20人死亡。
根據法新社報導，奈及利亞道路安全當局指出，這起事故發生於昨（3日）下午，涉及4輛交通工具，分別為1台卡車、1輛汽車、1台巴士和1輛機車。
道路安全當局發言人說道，車禍造成20人喪生、5人受傷，「初步調查結果顯示，煞車失靈以及隨後失去控制，很可能是這起事故的原因」。
奈及利亞經常發生車禍，原因為當地道路往往維護不善，而且民眾時常違反交通規則。
根據奈及利亞道路安全當局統計，2025年大約發生1萬446起交通事故，並奪走5289條人命。

The injured were taken to nearby hospitals, while the bodies were moved to the Jos University Teaching Hospital mortuary. One ordinary journey ended with 20 families receiving news nobody wants to hear.
