治療一半爆炸！5歲童困「高壓氧艙」內 烈火悶燒慘死

美國前陣子發生一起十分罕見的爆炸意外，一名5歲的男孩在進行高壓氧治療時，高壓氧艙突然發生爆炸，小男孩在艙內被活活焚燒致死。

針對這起國際駭聞，《The Mirror》報導指出，美國一名5歲男童庫珀（Thomas Cooper）在當地時間1月31日，至底特律一間醫療中心「Oxford Center」接受高壓氧治療（Hyperbaric medicine）時，高壓氧艙（oxygen chamber）發生爆炸，庫珀在艙內被烈火焚燒當場慘死，一旁的母親手臂也被炸傷。

對於此案，當地警消表示高壓氧艙內的氧氣濃度極高，因此極容易燃燒，爆炸風險也較高，但高壓氧艙會炸成這樣仍極為罕見，連消防人員都為之震驚。

然而，經相關人員調查，發現醫療中心疏失嚴重，似乎為了利益罔顧孩童的性命安全，一共有4人遭起訴，分別為創始人兼執行長彼得森（Tamela Peterson）被指控犯有二級謀殺罪，設施經理馬肯（Gary Marken）與安全經理莫斯特勒（Gary Mosteller）被指控二級謀殺罪和過失殺人罪，以及當天的操作員莫菲特（Aleta Moffitt）被指控過失殺人罪和提供虛假醫療資訊；目前，4人都已於3月10日被捕，訴訟仍在進行中，醫療中心方及律師皆未發表任何聲明。
