綜合《New York Post》、《ABC News》報導，希臘佛洛斯的港口，本周出現大量死亡的淡水魚，死魚在港口、河道形成一層銀色的毯子，綿延數公里；當局發現後，立刻介入處理，在影響越來越嚴重前，趕忙將死魚撈起，截至目前已撈出超過100噸的死魚。

據了解，這些魚來自希臘中部的卡拉湖（Lake Karla），專家研判是受到去年洪水的影響，導致該湖中的淡水魚離開原本的棲息地，跑到佛洛斯河口時碰上鹹水死亡，當地官員也透露「從卡拉湖往東20公里，出現數百萬條死魚」。
嚴重的死魚事件，造成當地本周商業活動減少了80％，尤其是沿海的餐飲業，目前皆暫停營業，死魚散發出來的惡臭更讓居民、遊客都感到不適；目前，當地相關部門已開完記者會，並開始介入調查，以免對當地生態、環境等造成更嚴重的影響。
