35歲英國女歌手黛菲（Duffy）曾獲葛萊美音樂獎肯定，2008年憑藉《Mercy》一曲爆紅，登上英國專輯排行榜冠軍，成為當年英國第三大暢銷單曲，黛菲也聲勢高漲，和艾美懷絲、愛黛兒等人並列最受矚目流行歌壇天后，但她2011年卻突然銷聲匿跡，時隔近10年，黛菲26日在IG發文，驚爆自己遭性侵、下藥，甚至被囚禁好幾天，消息一出震驚粉絲。

「一定有許多人想知道我發生了什麼事、在哪裡消失以及為什麼消失」，黛菲在IG透露，去（2019）年夏天，一名記者找到她，友善地徵求她的受訪意願，「我答應了，並告訴了他一切」，黛菲揭露消失這段時間的經歷，「事實是：我被強迫性侵、下藥、囚禁了好幾天」但她也強調，「我已經挺過來了，請相信我現在沒事了」。

黛菲坦言，傷口復原需要時間，她也無法以更輕鬆的方式訴說這段過去，但她要歌迷放心，「過去十年來的數千個日子，我承諾要讓自己的心能再次感受到陽光，如今，陽光確實又再度照進我的心房」，黛菲也透露，這些年之所以不再唱歌，是因為不想「再向世界展示我的悲傷，如果我的心都碎了，我要如何開口唱歌？」

黛菲也表示，雖然不容易，但未來幾週，她將透過訪談親口說出這段故事，「希望大家尊重這對我自己來說是一個溫柔的舉動，我不希望因為此事傷害到我的家人，請支持我去做這件勇敢的事」，並直言，「如果你有任何問題，我會在留言中回答」。事實上，黛菲過去曾透露被繼父的前妻，雇用殺手試圖謀殺她，也坦承青春時期曾染毒的經歷。
You can only imagine the amount of times I thought about writing this. The way I would write it, how I would feel thereafter. Well, not entirely sure why now is the right time, and what it is that feels exciting and liberating for me to talk. I cannot explain it. The recovery took time. There’s no light way to say it. But I can tell you in the last decade, the thousands and thousands of days I committed to wanting to feel the sunshine in my heart again, the sun does now shine. You wonder why I did not choose to use my voice to express my pain? I did not want to show the world the sadness in my eyes. I asked myself, how can I sing from the heart if it is broken?
